Estudio Longitudinal para una Infancia Saludable (ELISA)
The Estudio Longitudinal para una Infancia Saludable (ELISA Project) is a large-scale longitudinal study conducted in Galicia, Spain. The ELISA Project focuses on the diversity of profiles and pathways in child development; it also aims to study the mechanisms underlying stability and change in behavioral, emotional, and psychosocial difficulties. Approximately 2,500 children (48.1% girls) from the general population were involved in the study. Most of the sample is Spanish (around 90%), with the remaining participants coming from Latin-America, Africa, and other European countries. At the first data collection, in 2017, children were 3-5 years of age (M=4.26 years, SD=.91). Parent and teacher-reported psychometric data have been collected over the years in successive annual follow-ups. Measures of temperament, psychopathology, family, and environmental risk are included in the ELISA questionnaire, which is administered in online and paper-formats.
The ELISA Project is supported by the FEDER/Ministerio de Ciencia, Innovación y Universidades – Agencia Estatal de Investigación (Grants PSI2015-65766-R; PID2019-107897RB-I00) and the Consellería de Cultura, Educación e Ordenación Universitaria, Xunta de Galicia (Grant GRC, 2018).
